Speak in a Week Spanish: Week 1 (Speak in a Week)

My Mother is Mexican and I lived in Mexico when I was a young child. However, after many years back in the United States and little usage, my Spanish is very rusty. My children have been interested in learning Spanish for some time. After searching Amazon's assortment of language CDs, I decided to give the Speak in a Week CDs a try. WOW! I blew through the Week 1 CD in one setting and was astonished at how much I remembered - and how PRACTICAL this material is. My kids love listening to the CD in the car and the book is only slightly bigger than a typical CD case so it is very portable. Well designed!

This Week 1 assumes that you know basic Spanish pronouncing of letters. The Spanish speaking woman is totally authentic and has excellent pronounciation to learn from.

For parents, travelers, and beginners who don't know where to start - START HERE!

I've made several attempts to speak Spanish before. I tried a few different courses. These courses were harder and slower. My mom also wanted to learn Spanish but she didn't have time for those non-portable courses. One Morning my Mom brought home "Speak in a week".
It is not badly priced.
As soon as she started using this she was speaking Spanish in a couple of hours. So was I. Learning useful phrases excited me and I look forward to getting the rest of the Spanish, Speak in a weeks, plus French.
I would recommend this even for intermediate speakers or someone who doesn't know a single word in Spanish. Unlike others this book will have you getting across basic needs really fast. What this book lacks in durability it makes up for in fun and education. I gave this book only four stars because of the durability. The last few pages of mine fell out. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to speak Spanish and Speak Spanish fast.
