EDITORIAL REVIEW

Entering the universe of Bruno Poinsard means entering a world of resonance. Textures and colours set as counterpoints, chromatic correspondences, rhymes of bodies and fabric. The photographs of Bruno Poinsard ennoble the woman - a woman one can relish, one can breath in, a woman one can touch. The woman in his pictures is not an object of desire. She is desire. If she were a flower, he would let us smell her fragrance. If she were a fruit, we could taste her aroma. Her perfume wakens all of our five sences and allures us with a thousand enchantments. Looking closely at Bruno Poinsard's work you will understand how this photographer of beauty manages to stage the promised dreams for magazines so brilliantly. However, his talent expresses itself across his whole work: depicting female beauty in all its humaneness; making woman accesible without exhibiting her. Bruno Poinsard is one of the few photographers who can present the image of a woman and reveal her hidden dimension without violating her intimacy.

Some Excellent Portrait Shots, But Not The Book It's Made Out To Be
~ Written on Sep 25, 2009. out of 1 users found this review helpful.

The location shots are fair at best and in most cases not anywhere you would long to see in person. This is disappointing since after several trips to the Hawaiian Islands and the US Virgin Island I know first hand there is much more dramatic scenery readily available. The subject matter as reveiwed earlier seems to focus on young girls which is both positive and negative. The portraits are very sensuous and I found myself wishing the entire book was filled with portrait images alone. On the other hand the full and partial body shots seemed like a waste due to the skinny models and ho-hum scenery. The photographer does have talent and I would really look forward to seeing more of his portrait work in the future. All in all though if you are looking for a book featuring fully grown women in lush tropical settings, you should keep on looking.

Equatorial Eroticism
~ Written on Jan 21, 2009. 2 out of 2 users found this review helpful.

Crystal clear waters, deep blue skies, sunny beaches and lush vegetation form the backdrop for Tropical Blend, a collection of photographs which are sensual, not only in the traditional (and expected) eroticism inherent in the subject matter—beautiful young women relaxing nude and semi-nude in classic visions of tropical paradise—but also in the quality of the images, which make the clinging weight of the humid air, the grit of the beach sand, the cool caress of damp fabric, the salty tang of the ocean spray palpable and real.

True to the title, the book is a blend. While the lion's share of the photographs are exquisitely realized nudes and semi-nudes, the oft-overlooked but essential trappings of the tropical fantasy Poinsard is constructing are also given their due. The brilliantly hued throat of an exotic flower which instantly fills up your head with its fragrance, the glistening body of a freshly opened oyster that you easily imagine slithering delightfully across your tongue—it is these details and their interplay with the remainder of the images in form, color, and metaphor which elevate Poinsard's book from the merely slick to the polished.

Tropical Nudes
~ Written on Dec 16, 2008. 1 out of 1 users found this review helpful.

Working out of Paris, France, Bruno Poinsard is a rising star in the world of fashion photography. Tropical Blend is his first book. And it's a fantastic introduction to his work, especially his beauty photography and nudes. It features a wide and breathtaking variety of models from the fashion world, generally set about in lush, tropical settings. If lovely, lithesome, naked beauties, taken from the pages of magazines such as Vogue, Harpers, and Glamour are your thing, then this is your book. And together with Poinsard's superb photography and creative composition, this is one fantastic publication for lovers of the female form.

Poinsard: Tropical Blend

I was impressed with the high quality of the photos and the design of the book. The photos on odd and even pages have a matching color or shape that is pleasing to the eye and creates a thread for the eye to follow. The photographs of the female body are tasteful and beautiful.

After browsing his homepage, I started to look for his book in book store and finally got it. As same from the title, Tropical Blend, so pics inside this book has trees, forest, or beach..really tropical!!. So, now I put his book on my bed side table, which I can flip it after work or beside rest. This is one of the best on my collection..!! Don't miss it..!!
