EDITORIAL REVIEW

Actress-writer-director Ida Lupino got one of her unfortunately rare opportunities behind a camera making this 1966 family comedy about two mischievous students (Hayley Mills, June Harding) making life difficult for the nuns at a girls' convent school. Rosalind Russell has a fine part as a mother superior vexed by their pranks and outwardly chilly until the girls catch her in a more private moment of emotional release. The script has an anecdotal structure--it's sort of one thing after another with Mills's and Harding's troublemakers--but there is a rising sense that these two kids gradually develop some awareness of the pain and sacrifices of others. A fun and touching movie all around, with a nice twist at the end. --Tom Keogh

My daughter fell in love with this movie as a child. I purchased it to show to my little nieces and nephews. Still enjoyed it!

A lot of nunsense! LOL

I use the word nunsense as Miss Russell plays the Reverend Mother, a strong person with good sense in an arena of fun, charm, mischief and, laughter! Hayley Mills plays the defiant Mary Clancy attending Catholic school named St Francis. It is one "scathingly brilliant idea" after another. Enough to try the patience of GOD himself with a healthy dash of merriment that the whole family will enjoy! I remember seeing this movie when it was first released in 1966. It is just as much fun today as it was back then. Mary Wickes (whom you may remember as Lucy Ricardos ballet teacher in an I Love Lucy episode) plays a supporting role that adds a dash of enhanced flavor to the shenanigans. A sheer delight for all.

Trouble with Angels indeed

Great classic movie. One that has been with me all my life. Loved Hailey Mills as a child and love her now. Just a good family movie and fun. Highly recommend it to all

I saw this movie last year con TCM And I was greatly surprised! It is one of the funniest movies Ive ever seen. The acting was so natural, a movie very well done, and still with the innocence of the 60's... I loved it!

Good Family Entertainment

The Trouble With Angels, was ordered to show our young granddaughters. We feel we need to see more movies equal to this one. All the adults in the family enjoyed the movie, brought back memories when we first saw the movie.
