MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers

I had to buy this for a class. I wish I didn't buy it. Everything I needed to know in this book is available online, and online it is much easier to understand! At least it wasn't very expensive, so it's not like I threw away a fortune.

As an English major, I found this book quite helpful; it contained not only what I wanted for my classes, but what I needed for ancillary work in the field.

this book is like previous mla books.

my main problem is that mla isn't using footnotes anymore.

so, i am switching to chicago (which i already preferred).

It is indispensable to anyone - undergraduates preparing their semester papers, postgraduates organizing their dissertations, authors and scholars writing papers for publication in scholarly journals. The MLA Handbook has been one of the institutions of the world of scholarship, and is so well known and so widely relied upon as a guide book to scholary writing, that in reality a review of it would be superfluous, and a preaching to the converted.
