REPHRASING WITH VERB TAKE

Hi there,

I have been asked to rephrase this sentence with the verb take in past:
In a couple of years she lost 15 kilos.
It took..

My choice was It took a couple of years to lose 15 kilos

I was told that the right answer was " It took a couple of years 15 kilos" but I wasn´t explain why.
I don´t understand why my choice is wrong and I don´t see the grammar point of the correct answer.

The so-called 'correct' answer is nonsense.

Yours is closer. Add 'her' after 'took' and put a full stop at the end.
