I have to write cultural criticism on a book and I have no idea what it is or how to start. An example would be appreciated. The book is called "Half Brother" by Kenneth Oppel. Here's a synopsis of the book (from Barns and Noble):

For thirteen years, Ben Tomlin was an only child. But all that changes when his mother brings home Zan — an eight-day-old chimpanzee.
