What is the literary period he belongs to?

Was he a realist writer?

Born 1660, died 1731, so late 17th-early 18th century - Restoration and Augustan. Was fundamentally a political journalist, pamphleteer, and satirical writer who also wrote several great novels. Wikipedia and Kirjasto have good accounts of him.

Wasnt he the one writing Robinson Crusoe, a world wide known story :confused:
