    Smile The Color Purple

Has anyone read 'The Color Purple' by Alice Walker? I'm thinking of studying it with a sixth form class and would like to know what you thought of it! Thankyou!!

It's an interesting book, but disturbing in parts. It deals with incest, rape, racism and other unsavory themes. It's definitely not a "feel good" novel, but it does ultimately tell the triumph of some strong women who survive with each other's help.

Hi, I am quite new here, so I browse and your request interested me as I have read the Color purple. It was great. I almost read it by one breath. There were parts I wished I could have entered the story and kick someoneīs ass, especially menīs ones. It is an amazing story - based on rough and rude facts. And an analysis of the coulour itself could be quite good one!
