The Color Purple Has anyone read 'The Color Purple' by Alice Walker? I'm thinking of studying it with a sixth form class and would like to know what you thought of it! Thankyou!!

Re: The Color Purple It's an interesting book, but disturbing in parts. It deals with incest, rape, racism and other unsavory themes. It's definitely not a "feel good" novel, but it does ultimately tell the triumph of some strong women who survive with each other's help.

Re: The Color Purple Hi, I am quite new here, so I browse and your request interested me as I have read the Color purple. It was great. I almost read it by one breath. There were parts I wished I could have entered the story and kick someoneīs ass, especially menīs ones. It is an amazing story - based on rough and rude facts. And an analysis of the coulour itself could be quite good one!
