Squealer, the a manipulator and persuader. "He could turn black into white."
No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets
"You have heard then, comrades," he said, "that we pigs now sleep in the beds of the farmhouse? And why not? You did not suppose, surely, that there was ever a ruling against beds? A bed merely means a place to sleep in. A pile of straw in a stall is a bed, properly regarded. The rule was against sheets, which are a human invention. We have removed the sheets from the farmhouse beds, and sleep between blankets. (Animal Farm. Chapter VI)

I like Old Benjamin, the wise old donkey who has seen it all and doesn't believe in any of it, yet stirs himself when they take Boxer away.

All the characters are great but to have a full appreciation of the novel it has to be delt with as an allegory of Communist Russia. In other words every animal stands for a certain real Russain figure.

very interesting, fancy girl. I've just known they stand for real figures. But before we talk about this, will you tell us who's your favorite?

Sorry - George Eliot was the female writer, Mary Anne Evans, and she lived in the 19th century. George Orwell's real name was Eric Arthur Blair George Orwell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The one I like most is Benjamin, a wise animal who stays silent very often, most of the time indeed, he dosen't talk, let alone discussing, although he seemed to know about every thing happened, every single issue they'd had. And by the way Boxer himself wasn't so bad if he just had used his mind
