| Squealer, the a manipulator and persuader. "He could turn black into white." No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets "You have heard then, comrades," he said, "that we pigs now sleep in the beds of the farmhouse? And why not? You did not suppose, surely, that there was ever a ruling against beds? A bed merely means a place to sleep in. A pile of straw in a stall is a bed, properly regarded. The rule was against sheets, which are a human invention. We have removed the sheets from the farmhouse beds, and sleep between blankets. (Animal Farm. Chapter VI). | I like Old Benjamin, the wise old donkey who has seen it all and doesn't believe in any of it, yet stirs himself when they take Boxer away. |

| All the characters are great but to have a full appreciation of the novel it has to be delt with as an allegory of Communist Russia. In other words every animal stands for a certain real Russain figure. Last edited by a_fancy_girl1; 01-Mar-2007 at 22:47. |

| The one I like most is Benjamin, a wise animal who stays silent very often, most of the time indeed, he dosen't talk, let alone discussing, although he seemed to know about every thing happened, every single issue they'd had. And by the way Boxer himself wasn't so bad if he just had used his mind |
