Smile Literature from Canada, Australia, and NZ

Hello! I have a book which mentioned about British and American literature works and their important writers or poets, but none about the rest of the English world - Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. And I never hear about any literature works from these countries.

I wonder whether there're any important literature works from these countries that I don't know. If yes, what are the works?

Thanks!

Lots of great writers from all three:

Canada: Centre for Language and Literature - Canadian Writers - Athabasca University
Australia: Classic Australian Works
New Zealand: List of New Zealand writers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That Australian list is very biased. It does not even contain Patrick White (our only Nobel Literature Prize winner!) or ... lots of more famous writers.
Here's my biased list, culled from:
List of Australian novelists - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ones in red, I would recommend for their Australian Content and readability

Katherine Mansfield is one of NZ's better known writers, along with Janet Frame and Margaret Mahy. Perhaps one of the most encouraging things about the development in NZ writing over the last decade or so is that one of the most successful local authors was a historian, Michael King. Sadly, my own tastes are less refined, and the NZ author I've read the most of is Ngaio Marsh, whose crime novels also served to share her deep passion for Shakespearean theatre. Mahy's work is well worth a look from the young adult point of view, and Mansfield's short stories are often surprisingly evocative of NZ for works written by someone who had fled the country. I haven't read much work by Maori authors, but Witi Ihimaera's tales are well-constructed and give interesting insights that may be partly shaped by being the work of a gay man raised in and proud of a homphobic culture. Sam Hunt's poetry is worth a look, but it really is MUCH better when read aloud by the author.
