My mother has been trying new cooking recipes. Once, she cooked watermelon with fish. She also added alcohol into the dough. I didn't try any of them because they were weird to me. I've decided to surprise my mother with new cooking recipes too. As Halloween is coming, I will choose some extra spicy food for her.

I didn't try any of them because they were sounded weird. to me.
If the watermelon/fish dish includes dough, say "I didn't try it because it sounded weird. If there are two dishes (watermelon/fish and something else with dough, say "I didn't try either of them because they sounded weird.

I've decided to surprise my mother with some new cooking recipes. too. As Halloween is coming, I will choose some extra spicy food for her. Are you going to give her some new recipes or are you going to cook for her?

In that case, you need to make it clear that it was two different recipes:
Once, she cooked watermelon with fish. She also made bread with alcohol in the dough!

Then use:
I didn't try either of them ...

At the end, use:
I will make some extra spicy food for her.

That sounds really tasty. I've seen recipes for beer bread before. Have a look HERE to see how/why it works. If your mum makes it again, I think you should try some of it.

@Maybo Rather than saying it tastes like alcohol it would probably be better to say it tastes like beer.
