I am trying to use the verb "overcompensate" in my sentences. I am not sure if I have used it correctly, and I am wondering if you could correct my mistakes.
1. Peter felt inferior to his friends and overcompensated by buying expensive cars and watches.
2. Gina felt lonely after her boyfriend left her and overcompensated by going out often and having dates with different men.
3 Everything Maria did in her later life was just a way to overcompensate for her difficult childhood.
