Hello, folks

A bilateral agreement was entered into by and signed off between two parties

1-The Second Party shall survey the ancient inscriptions in the area, from the date of signing(signature) this 5-year agreement, pursuant to the permit granted to by the First Party.
2. The Second Party is not allowed to continue surveying after the expiration of the period granted, as stipulated in article (1) above. If the Second Party desires to continue the excavation at the same or another site, he shall submit to the First Party a request for the renewal of the license permit at least six months prior (ahead of ) to its expiry.

Any comments relevant to the construction, word choice, or grammatical modality?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, folks

A bilateral agreement was entered into by and signed off between two parties

1-The Second Party shall survey the ancient inscriptions in the area, from the date of signing(signature) [both signing and signature are okay here but signature requires of. "Execution iof" is the usual legal term at least in my home country of Canada]this 5-year agreement, pursuant to the permit granted to him by the First Party.
2. The Second Party is not allowed to continue surveying after the expiration of the period granted, as stipulated in [omit the phrase "as stipulated in". It is unnecessary and the passage reads better without it] article (1) above. If the Second Party desires to continue the excavation at the same or another site, he shall submit to the First Party a request for the renewal of the license permit at least six months prior (ahead of ) [use prior] to its expiry.

Any comments relevant to the construction, word choice, or grammatical modality?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks you very much, Probus.

Here is another one:
The First Party shall agree on involve (the participation of all) members working with the Second Party on scientific supporting works. The First Party may (has the right to) reject any member of the team without justification, and dismiss any member who does not abide by bylaw and regulations of municipality, or violates any term of this agreement.

Ayid, you seem to think that language in contracts should be hard to understand. Also, you clearly have decided to reject my advice.

No, Tarheel.

Legal context is different from others. It should be word-for-word and phrase-for-phrase. Read up of this field and see for yourself.

I appreciate your advice, " get directly to the point"
