Hi,

please help me figure out this sentence;

"Her hands twisting in her laps."

I understand that she put her hands in her laps...does this mean she's seated in a chair( or sofa or somewhere)?

And, I don't understand the twisting part.
Does this mean her palms are facing up or she's moving her fingers restlessly or...?:roll:

Thank you in advance:cry:

Yes, she has to be sitting down to have a "lap". When you stand up, your lap goes away.
Yes, she's twisting her fingers around each other - a sign of anxiety or worry.

Thank you so much:-D

Can I ask again about this?

So my understanding is that she's clasping her hands. Is that right?

And, is she moving her fingers or hands while clasping her hands?:roll:

Thank you:-?

Her hands would be in motion in some way, the fingers moving about around each other, twisting, rubbing, many possible movements. If her hands were still, it would not suggest anxiety or worry.
