Slow down we have lot of/ plenty of time.

Slow down. We have lot of/ plenty of time.
"A lot of" means a large quantity.
"Plenty of" means enough or sufficient for the purpose.

Plenty of time is not necessarily a lot of time. For example, if you only need a few seconds to accomplish your goal, and you have a minute, then you have plenty of time; but a minute is not necessarily a lot of time.

Re: ‘Plenty of’ or ‘lot of’

So in this sentence, plenty of time is correct to use.

Re: ‘Plenty of’ or ‘lot of’

There is no way to tell which one is appropriate in your sentence without having more context.

Re: ‘Plenty of’ or ‘lot of’

This sentence is from http://testyourenglish.org/test-115. a test on determiner.

Slow down, we have ....... time.

1) a few
2) plenty of
3) lot of

Re: ‘Plenty of’ or ‘lot of’

2. is the only possible solution grammatically. "We have lot of time" is not possible. It would have to be "a lot of time".
But even if it read "a lot of time", the answer should be "plenty of".
There are other problems, with apparently missing articles and misspellings in some other questions. For example, no correct answer is available for:

The accident was terrible. He had ... luck that he survived.

- many
- much
- a lot of

What is the correct answer for this question?

Re: ‘Plenty of’ or ‘lot of’

If you had told us this in post #1, you could have saved us a lot of time.

Sorry for that.

What is the correct answer for this question?
You could say, "He was [very] lucky to have survived." As I said, no correct choice is given.
