0.5 meter or 0.5 meters for decimal numbers ?

Which is correct
0.5 meter or 0.5 meters ?

Many people use plural form in decimal numbers. But i don't know the reason why.. would someone like to explain the reason to me ?

It depends on how you read "0.5 m".

You can say "zero point five metres" or "half a meter".

Take your pick.

ohh someone had asked it already, anyway thanks for your corrections ;-). They were my bad habits in writing. :oops:

It depends on how you read "0.5 m".

You can say "zero point five metres" or "half a meter".

Take your pick.
