If it comes to the point that we always agree, I think we will be ready to judge others with some authority.

If it comes to the point that we always agree, I will know that I have become a consummate professional.:up:

Well, where are the consummate professionals if not we?

I wish they would show up.

I wrote to Gene but no reply yet.
I think the lion's share of diagramming is not the sketching of diagrams, but the recognition of structures.
I often wonder whether famous grammarians like Quirk, Leech, Conrad, Dowty, etc., ever visit this site. Why don't they join? Busy?

I don't recognize any of the names of those famous grammarians.

If they are British, it is entirely possible that they are uncomfortable with Reed-Kellogg.

I actually looked into learning Xbar Theory, but I kept saying to myself, "So, where is the fun?"

In about a week I will re-start my Competitive Sentence Diagramming Club. It set me back to have this fractured hip, but I am just about ready rejoin the battle.

I also asked myself, but a different question: Where is the beginning of the thread I could pick up. Chomsky. Do you think he visits UE occasionally? It would be cool if he joined. No such luck. :-(

More power to your [STRIKE]elbow[/STRIKE] hip! ;-)

I can't imagine Chomsky joining the site. But wouldn't that be cool!

Tell me about Megan Fox.

Got it!

Right there with Cleopatra.
