HI all
i hope all be happy
what is the difference between `say` and `tell`?
please say me where and when do they use?

thanks alot

The general rule is: "say something/tell someone".

You can say:
Tell me what you're doing.
You can't say:
*Say me what you're doing.
You can say:
He said to me that he was sick.
You can't say:
*He told to me that he was sick.

I'm not a teacher and can be wrong.

'a lot' is two words.
Click on the link below. It's cluttered with other stuff, but there is a fair amount on "say" and "tell".
