I would like to know if the following sentence is grammatially correct and meaningful :

The two first sons were born in February.

If it is, is there any difference in meaning with regard to this other one?

The first two sons were born in February.

Thank you :-D

Well, "the two first" would be incorrect if you're talking about one mother having two baby boys. Her "first two" sons were born in February, but of course that would mean they were twins.

Were the 2 boys born to 2 different mothers?

Imagine a mother who has five children and the first two were born in London while the rest of them were born in Paris.

Would it be possible to say Her two first sons were born in London......

I realize that the example given in the previous post was not very good.

Thanks

What if the first son were born in February 2008 and the second in February 2009?

Her first two sons were born on different days, years, but the same month!

No, a mother can have only one 'first son'.
Her first two sons were born in London.... :tick:

I realize that the example given in the previous post was not very good.
