Heard someone in the Archers say "Saw it, bought it, no messing" saying it like [so:r it]... Is it normal to use linking R in "saw it"? Thanks.

It's more common in BrE to add an "r" to saw. I've also heard some folks in Boston and areas of New England pronounce it that way in AmE. (President John F. Kennedy, who was from Massachusetts, was famous for saying "sawr" instead of "saw" and "Cuber" instead of "Cuba.") It's not really correct or incorrect, it's just a dialect quirk. :)

I never do.

It's one of my pet hates.
