Which one is correct?

"The company will sell to its customers more portable gadgets such as ....."

"The company will sell its customers more portable gadgets such as ...."

Let me use a simpler sentence.

The clerk sold an apple to me.
The clerk sold me an apple.
NOT: The clerk sold to me an apple. (This might not be a grammatical error, but it's unnatural.)

Can you tell which is the better sentence in your example now?
