people has been telling me that if i say "I'm exciting" is incorrect. But I cant seems to find the reason behind as we can say 'I'm writing.

I am exciting. I make other excited.
I am frightening. I make others feel frightened.
I am boring. I bore others.

Who is feeling excitement? You or others?

If it's you, then say "I am excited."
