Dear all,

A man is talking about Rihanna saying:

"after her incident with Chris Brown she realized that every young girl in the world was checked in to her, like it or not, she had to accept that"

What is the meaning of "was checked into her"?

It's not a usage I've met, but I think I know what's going on here.

There's a meaning of 'check in' that can connote 'go through intial formalities': 'When delegates arrive, they should check in at Reception."

An inspector of some kind - say, quality control - may 'check out' or 'check over' something.

In the case you quote, it seems that all these meanings are being rolled together. There is a powerful matriarch to whom every young lady must be presented.

Informal arrangements like these were formalized at one (not-too-distant) time in the 'Coming out balls' attended by Débutantes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .;-)

Sorry I'll try again...

I think (as I said - it's not a usage I've met) it means that before young ladies are accepted in that particular social circle they have to be presented to a powerful person (probably an elderly woman - possibly 'Chris Brown', but the context isn't clear) who 'inspects' them (asks about their families, expected dowry, [lack of] political views, and so on).
