    simple participle of perfect participle2?

I'm making another one for participle, but is the following interpreted as simple participle when the two actions happened sequentially?

Getting off the bus, I purchased a brochure and picked out what I wanted to see.
= After I got off the bus, I purchased a brochure and picked out what I wanted to see.

What not "Having got off the bus"?

If the sequence is clear and there's no particular need to emphasise it, we often don't bother using having + past participle.
