[Grammar] difference between "or" used in imperative sentence and "or else"

Hello.
I sometimes see "or else" used like
"Do what you gotta do,or else you will be evicted."
This can be said like this?
"Do what you gotta do,or you will be evicted."
If I am wrong,Can you tell me the difference?

I think that 'or' and 'or else' are interchangeable in such situations.
