Would you tell me your opinion about the interpretations of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
..I am sure that the window and the child whom you have over protected and loved will always have a corner in your heart. (W. Thackeray, “Vanity Fair”)
have a corner in somebody’s heart = to provoke tender feeling in someone, gain someone’s heart
