But not: *I had have a good time. *I had have some lunch.
had is the past participle of
have and the simple past tenseand the past subjunctive of
have.
You can also write I had had a good time....... or I had had some lunch..... where ...... represents something which happened after 'a good time' or 'some lunch', for example:
I had had a good time, then I fell and broke my leg.
I had had some lunch, then I went shopping.
You can use: I had to have: I had to have my leg amputated.
