Lesbian is a female who sexually attracted to women only.
Gay are male and female who sexually attracted of the same sex.

1) Is the meaning of homosexual the same as gay?

2) Is there a word for a male who sexually attracted to men only?

3) What is the plural form of :
a) lesbian
b) gay

Thanks.

2. There are derogatory informal words like poofter and queer.

3.

Never use these words, they are completely unacceptable and likely to get you into trouble!

NOT A TEACHER.

You can add "fag" and "homo" to that list.

I think women can also be called "gay."

That was established in post #1, Jasmin.

Instead of "gays" and "lesbians" you can say "gay people", "lesbian women".

 Yes - it's strange (because 'gay' has been so recently used to mean homosexual, its meaning is very flexible). A lesbian will say 'I'm gay'; but many organizations are called '<place-name> Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual <organization-type>' as though 'gay' excluded lesbians - which, as you know - it doesn't. ;-)

However, within the gay community, people have "taken back" these words, and often use them to refer to themselves and each other without intending it as an insult (the same way that African-Americans have reclaimed "the n-word").
