I understand prostitude stands for both men and women one who has sex for money.

I remember there's a famous Western movie taking about a male prostitude named American xxxxxx (sorry, I don't know how to spell, but it sounds like jeg - ga - lo)

1) May I know the correct spelling of jeg - ga - lo?

2) Does jeg - ga - lo stand for male prostitude, is it a dirty word?

3) Is there a speical word for: (both slang or official, if available)

a) female prostitude
b) male prostitude

I know what call girl is while the meaning of call boy is totally different. Then, what do we call a man who works for the same job nature as a call girl?

Thanks.

The word is "prostitute"
The film is "American Gigolo", Look up "gigolo" in a dictionary.
"Male escort" is a term used for men who hire themselves out to rich women.

Sex worker is often used in official, academic and similar contexts, though the term is wider than prostitution and includes people making pornography, etc.

 I haven't checked in a dictionary, but gigolo ought to be a man. But English doesn't care much about the gender of Italian words (or the number, for that matter: I've head 'a panini'). What is called a' bimbo' in English should really be una bimba, diminutive of bambina - compare the English 'Babe'.

3) Is there a special word for: (both slang or official, if available)

a) female prostitute - hooker, streetwalker, whore, ho, courtesan, harlot etc.

b) male prostitute - rent boy.
