:up: - but where do 'house' and 'block' fit in? We had 'dens' when I was a Cub (we were Wolf Cubs then, which explains the 'den'). but... :-? (I think the old hierarchy was den < troop < district, but I've no up-to-date info about Cub Scouts.

I've heard "den mother" used in the context of incarceration. An imprisoned woman was called a den mother, because she took care of other prisoners.

It's a funny advertisement implying what a mom will face while the kids are between 6-12 years of age.
