I am trying to get an accurate translation or find the root of the word cieneguits. I am not sure if it is a proper name of an old world Spanish person or a word that describes something. It is used in Santa Barbara, CA as a street name.

What Wikipedia doesn't say is that -ito/-ita is a diminutive suffix, and the u doesn't represent a sound, but keeps the hard g. So cieneguita is (as far as the structure of the word is concerned) a small cienaga. It's possible though that the diminutive suffix changes the sense in some other way - after all, a 'lentil' and a 'lens' are different things (but with a similar shape) ;-)
