What does the phrase ''come off'' in the sentence ''I might come off as negative'' mean?

I know it as "come over as".

I, like bhai, use 'come over' (and 'come across') rather than 'come off'.

If that is taken from a dictionary, please credit your source. There are two important reasons for this - (1) It's a matter of courtesy; (2) We have to be very careful about copyright laws. Thank you.

These do not seem to be relevant here.

None of it is. The question has been answered, and the new 'answer' was confusing at best. (Not even that much could be said of the first bit, which was simply incoherent. ;-)
