Is it okay and grammatical to change or understand sentence 1 into or as sentence 2 and 3?

1.Very little was said as we awaited the arrival of the chairman.(original sentence)
2.While we awaited the arrival of the chairman, it was said very little.
3.As we awaited the arrival of the chairman, we said very little.
