It's not a true sentence. Logistics is necessary for army supplies, organising a charity event, and many other situations not involving trading. Of course, it depends on what you mean by 'concentrated' or 'focused'.

Note it said treated as singulars or plural.
I would use the singular.

Mathematics is ...
Physics is the study of ...
Logistics is ...
