Hi All,

As I am not a native speaker, I always need to check the dictionary when reading English newspapers, as you are native speaker, I was wondering if you will use dictionary when reading English newspapers?

Rarely.

However, if I read at home, I always have a dictionary at hand, just in case.

I prefer an online dictionary.

It's quicker and better, if you have a laptop or tablet at hand.

My question to EngFan:

Do you use a dictionary when you read a newspaper in your native language?

I think it´s a strange question, anyway in my own language, Spanish, I don´t use any dictionary when I read a newspaper.

I haven't had a newspaper force me to consult a dicitonary in quite awhile. I really only need a dictionary when I'm confronted with a lot of technical jargon.

I've had to use a dictionary when reading The Wall Streer Journal. I have never needed one when reading USA Today.
