1) Have you ever dreamed that you are running away from something or falling off something?

2) Have you ever dreamed that you were running away from something or falling off something?

I always thought that (2) is the correct answer since it's a dream in the past. Is (1) also correct? If so why?

You are saying that (1) is also correct right? So, there are two ways to say it (in another words, mean the very same thing), right?

What's the grammatical reasoning behind different tense usage in this context then? Why are we allowed to use both?

Can we use the other tenses?

Ex.

Have you dreamed that you fall from the sky?
Have you dreamed that you fell from the sky?
Have you dreamed that you have fallen from the sky?

Are other tenses also acceptable grammatically?
Do all of the above mean the same thing? If not, how are they different?
