Is there a difference in meaning between
1) I have seen him this week.
2) I have seen him in the last week.
I would understand these as:
1) I have seen him during this current weekend-to-weekend period.
2) I have seen him at some time during the last seven days.
Thanks, could you explain to me what this period is like? I mean the "weekend-to-weekend period". When does it start and finish?
I mean the common Monday–Friday "working week" because I think that in many (most?) cases, especially in work situations, "I have seen him this week" refers to that period. However, it could include the previous weekend, "I have seen him this week, on Sunday afternoon in fact", but in that case "I saw him in the weekend" or something similar is more likely.
