i got this sentence off the internet but i want to change it into my own words, could you please change it into something an 8th grader/year 8 student would write :)

Violence against women is a systemic, social problem rooted in persistent gender inequity, and is often marred by myths and misconceptions. The media isn’t solely responsible for this; we all participate in sustaining this status quo. Nevertheless, news media inform us, and has a responsibility to do so accurately. And it’s in this space where our research can be of benefit.

We can't change it into your words!

If you'd like to try to simplify it yourself, we can correct and comment on your work.

Please remember to use a capital letter for the pronoun I.

And note that it's not a sentence: it's a paragraph.

Unless it is homework!

This sentence is not correct. Most people see "media" as plural; some use it as singular. But you have used it both ways.

Use either "media inform us" and "have the responsibility" (preferred) or
"media informs us" and "has the responsibility".
