Hi teachers,

My throat is hoarse. Correct?
What other words can be used in place of "hoarse" to give the same meaning? Can it be "sore"?

Many thanks.

My throat is hoarse. Correct?
It's possible, but I am far more likely to say that I or my voice is hoarse, and that I have a sore throat.

I think the pronoun I is a typo, isn’t it?

No, it's not a typo. We sometimes say "I am hoarse", so 5jj meant "I am far more likely to say "I am hoarse" or "My voice is hoarse" but he shortened it to "I or my voice is hoarse".

As others have suggested, the word "hoarse" refers to a sound, not a physical condition. Your throat may be sore, inflamed, swollen, etc.
