I am trying say: the same number of 4 people played basketball and football.

In other words, 4 people played basketball as the same of people played football.

Can I use the same number of 4 people played basketball and football. Just trying to save words...

Tnx...

'The same four people who played basketball also played football.'

Note that Tnx is not an acceptable abbreviation in these forums.

Please note, the people played basketball are not the same people who played football. All I am interested in the same number of people,. Instead of saying the same of number of people, I just wanted to be more informative by adding 4 or any number for example.

'Four people played football and four others played basketball.'

'The same number of people played football as played basketball.'

Thank you so much Rover_KE.
Is there anyway I can add any number, say 4 to the following your sentence.

'The same number of people played football as played basketball.'

I would insert it parenthetically. The same number of people (4) played football as played basketball.

I was wondering whether I can use the following sentence.

4 men played basketball as the same number of men played football.

Just trying to understand and think in English as much as possible.

Thank you for your attention
