Hello, I have a question: which werb is best when you want to apply/cover with/lubricate/place the solution (it may be on your skin or inside your mouth or nostrils, etc.) It's not the case when you rub it in but simply...which word?

If you're talking about face cream then it's apply.

The word 'solution' sounds very scientific (from Chemistry) so in my opinion a statement such as "apply the solution to your face" sounds pretty strange unless you've concocted your own special mixture!
