Hello,

Please advise whic of the following grammar is correct.

Last week, she helped them look for the cat.
Last week, she helped them looking for the cat.
Last week, she helped them to look for the cat.
Last week, she helped them looked for the cat.

Thank you.

Please tell me which of the following [STRIKE]grammar[/STRIKE] sentences is correct.

Welcome to the forum, Dylis.

First, tell us which you think is/are correct.

(There is only one tense in each sentence: the past.)

Thank you for correcting my grammar. I think the following is correct.

Last week, she helped them looked for the cat.

But the English book that I read mention the following:

Last week, she helped them look for the cat.

Then, I did an online grammar check, and it mentioned that it is not right without giving reason. However, if I substitute the word 'look' to 'looking'/ 'to look'/ 'looked', then, it passed the check.

After thinking further, if I substitute the word 'look for' to 'find', then, I think that the following sentences are correct.

Last week, she helped them find/look for the cat.
Last week, she helped them finding/looking for the cat.

I am confuse.
