Hi,
As a European brand, Volvo is positioned as a luxury brand.

Don't you think the "a" should be "an"? I came across it on a certain website where I started to practice vocabulary. I just wanna make sure.

Thanks

No. A long u is preceded by a, not an.

Wanna is fine for song lyrics, but not for anything else. It is not standard English. It's sloppy.

The choice of "a" and "an" depends on pronunciation, not spelling. Even though "European" begins with a vowel, it begins with a consonant sound.

Thank you so much. I mispronounced the Europe so that I thought it should have been "an". It's okay! now I can understand. Oh yeah! wanna! I was actually in hurry so I didn't notice that I had written it such way. But thanks a lot for correcting me.

One issue with the sentence is the suggestion that European brands are luxury ones- many aren't.
