It is important to/for me to accept the criticism?

Hello everybody!

I know the following two things:

1. Accepting the criticism is important to me ≠ Accepting the criticism is important for me.

2. It is important for me to accept the criticism = It is important that I (should) accept the criticism.

What do you think of the sentence in question?

It is important to me to accept the criticism.

In my opinion, "It is important to me to accept the criticism" means the same as "It is important for me to accept the criticism".

"It is important to me to accept the criticism" is a mixture of item 1 and 2.

Of those, I prefer "It is important for me to accept the criticism".

I am not a teacher.

I agree that 2. means 'It is important that I (should) accept the criticism'.

'It is important to me to accept the criticism' is subjective, and puts the emphasis on what I consider to be important, even if others don't share that feeling.
