Could you, please, tell me which ones are correct:

1) I even went to do that in order not to forget it.
2) I even went to do that so as not to forget it.
3) I even went to do that not to forget it.
4) I even went to do that so that not to forget it.
5) I even went to do that so not to forget it

Many thanks.

Unfortunately, none of them makes sense. What are you trying to say?

Oh, sorry, I was checking the grammar, the construction itself.
Let put it this way then:

1) I even went to the dancing class in order not to forget how to dance.
2) I even went to the dancing class so as not to forget how to dance.
3) I even went to the dancing class not to forget how to dance.
4) I even went to the dancing class so that not to forget how to dance.
5) I even went to the dancing class so not to forget how to dance.

It seems to me that 3) and 4) are wrong.

Thank you.

3, 4, and 5 are wrong. The other two are unnatural.

Thank you.
Agree with 3-5 being wrong. Surprised with what you said about 1) and 2).

How about

1) I even went to teach dancing/language/drawing in order not to forget it myself.
2) I even went to teach dancing/language/drawing so as not to forget how to dance.

Thanks.

What are you intending by the word 'even'? It doesn't seem to fit in in any of your sentences. What's the context that requires it?

1 and 2 are grammatically ok, but as mentioned above a little awkward sounding. 3, 4 and 5 are all grammatically incorrect. Maybe, "I didn't want to forget how to dance, so I went back to my old dancing class", would sound more natural.

Is it allowed for me,a learner on this forum, to skip into the thread and add my example?
If yes then I would say:
"Before my brother's wedding I even went to a dancing class so that I do not forget how to dance."

I can't see the logical connection between going to a class and then not forgetting how to do something. You go to a class to learn how to do something, not to learn how not to forget it.

I've been so concerned with my lack of practice in English that I even went to teach English, in order not to forget it.

How about that? Why not? :)

That's slightly more logical. Once you've learnt how to do something, a good way to keep it in your brain is to start teaching it to other people. However, you have to be very adept at something in order to teach it to other people.

But we are not discussing that, are we? :)
My question was about grammar aspect and I'm glad that now it seems to be solved. Thanks.
