Thank you Emsr for your time. I should stick with "Money can make up for personality deficiencies" or "Money makes up for personality deficiencies". What is the correct way to say it according to you?

You can use either one. It just depends on how you want to say it.

P.S. Her name is "Ems" for short.

What does dearth mean exactly? I wrote it because it's a synonym of deficiency.

A "dearth" of something is a lack of something. Also, while the two words might be synonyms, they are definitely not used the same way. (Perhaps while I am "sleeping" on it somebody will explain this one better.)
