"Twice as high as" isn't the same as "two levels higher".

If Tom is ranked at level 6, and Tim's level is twice as high, then Tim is ranked at level 12.
If Tom is ranked at level 6, and Tim's level is two levels higher, then Tim is ranked at level 8.
