I will frame my question based on the below scenario:

A colleague asked me to provide a client with the login details for a website.
My response: "I'm quite sure we had given them the login details."

Here I was trying to indicate that the login details were sent to the client a long time ago. Is it okay to use either a simple past or past perfect in this situation?

The simple past or present perfect are possible. The past perfect doesn't work. We use it to express anteriority: the idea that the action described took place before another one.

"...we'd have given them..." (would have)

GS, are there any words you don't know?
;-)
