Hi there. Which of the following sentences is correct?

1- What [STRIKE]/which[/STRIKE] kind of movie do you like - comedy [STRIKE]ones[/STRIKE] or action [STRIKE]ones[/STRIKE]?

2- What [STRIKE]/which[/STRIKE] kind of movies do you like - comedy [STRIKE]ones[/STRIKE] or action [STRIKE]ones[/STRIKE]?

Note my corrections above. I'd use "What kind/type of movies ...?"

I suspect that because you offered only two choices, you perhaps mean to use which, not what. And if so, you probably mean movie, not movies.

Let me try to separate what I suspect may be two confused uses in your mind:

A: Unfortunately, we have only two kinds of movie. Which kind of movie do you want to watch? Action or comedy?
B: Action.

A: What kind of movies do you usually watch?
B: Action movies.

In future, it will really help us to answer your questions if you can provide much more context. Try to write a mini-dialogue in order to make it clear to us exactly what you mean.
