I have written a summary from an article. Can someone take a look and point out the errors?
The author of this article believes that a 3d printed robotic elephant trunk will have significant value for our future and industry. Currently, machine learning is a big part of research in robotics. Two universities have developed this new robotic arm technology. It may sounds strange, but it Is possible to print this arm with a 3D printer. The scientists tested this robotic arm by grasping marbles, picking them up and depositing them on a podium. Intelligent robots, however, can do specialized tasks such as picking up heavy objects, carrying boxes or even assembling complex electronic parts.
The article also states that the trunk can do flexing and bending operations. This application is so complex that we cannot really understand it completely; the complexity is simply too high for the limited human mind. It is not easy to program a machine to do things that animals do. The basic concept is to observe a lot of movements. The more series of movements are available, the better the robot analysis will be, for high precision control. Therefore, data plays a bigger role than ever before, and the scientists knows that. Data is the gold of the new digital age.
The article also points out that is important to know that, in theory, the robotic arm can learn in real time. However, this is quite difficult given that is computationally intensive. But in future developments the robotic elephant trunk can do that. At the beginning of the 19th century, the industrial revolution made a huge impact on humanity. As mentioned in the article, this new technology will also change our day lives.
